How ZeNO works
ZeNO softens water through salt/resin ion exchange — the same proven technology that leading brands rely on. The unit exchanges the limescale particles in your water using a specially calibrated resin. For as long as you use ZeNO, your water stays free of limescale.
The water flows from top to bottom through the ion exchange resin, which is enclosed at the top and bottom between two extra-fine filters (100 µm filter mesh, see image). This prevents the 'dead zones' of a traditional softener — where part of the resin always stays inactive — and so delivers ZeNO's high efficiency and substantial salt savings.

ZeNO — Water softener
ZeNO works by ion exchange — the method that really works, not the weak magnetic solutions that make little to no difference. The system cleans itself: you top it up with salt 2 to 3 times a year.
ZeNO comes in different sizes and versions, with optional extras — all within the same product. As standard, ZeNO removes limescale up to 100%; optionally, you set the water hardness yourself, matched to your usage and the characteristics of your source water, instead of completely limescale-free.

When regenerating, ZeNO uses up to 60% less salt and up to 66% less water than a standard water softener. Very few softeners achieve that.
Even more important: you decide how hard your water stays. You set how much hardness you want to keep yourself, for example 2 or 4 °dH, or another value. Going all the way down to 0 °dH is of course always possible too.
