Which size suits you?
That depends on how much water flows through your home at the same time — the so-called simultaneity factor. Even in a one-person household, 3 to 4 taps are quickly in use at the same moment: think of the washing machine, the dishwasher and the shower at once. With more occupants it rises further, for example when the toilet is flushed while someone is showering and the taps mentioned above are also running.
A larger ZeNO simply has more resin in its core. If more or much more water flows through a smaller unit at the same time, that water passes the resin too quickly — the contact time is then too short to soften the water properly. A size that is too small will keep working, but softens less completely at peak moments. That's why a larger household needs a ZeNO with more resin capacity.
